Nikkei 225 Live Trading Switzerland: Monday 1AM / 2AM & Trading Research

Watch Matthew Jackson, founder of GradTraders.com, trade around the Tokyo cash-market open every Monday in the GradTraders £200 simulated-funds Nikkei 225 Challenge. In Switzerland, the livestream begins shortly before 1:00 AM CET or 2:00 AM CEST on Monday, when Tokyo opens at 9:00 AM JST, so the replay will be the practical option for many Swiss traders.

This page brings together the GradTraders partners and trading solutions that make the most sense for Swiss traders, while linking into our wider broker, prop-firm, software and trading research so you can compare each route properly.

START HERE · DAY 1

Day 1 shows the Challenge from its starting balance, with entries, exits, stops, risk decisions and the result left visible.

Tokyo cash-market open traded every Monday
Stops, exits and no-trade decisions remain visible
Winning and losing sessions stay in the public record

For the longer view: the Matthew Jackson Trading Record keeps weekly results, replays and chart evidence together so the Challenge is not judged from one stream.

Japan does not use daylight saving time, while Switzerland does. Tokyo opens at 9:00 AM JST, which is 1:00 AM CET during Swiss winter and 2:00 AM CEST during Swiss summer. GradTraders starts the livestream shortly beforehand.

The Challenge uses simulated funds, with its performance updated weekly on the website through the livestream trading archive and the Matthew Jackson Trading Record.

DISCLOSURE & RISK

Important risk information

GradTraders provides general education and research only. Nothing on this page is personal financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to use a particular provider. Some links below are commercial partner links, and GradTraders may earn a commission from an eligible account opening or purchase at no additional cost to the reader. Commercial relationships do not determine our editorial conclusions.

CFDs and other leveraged products carry a high risk of loss. Prop-firm evaluations involve separate fees, rules and eligibility requirements, and those fees can be lost. Check the provider’s current terms, legal documents and risk warnings before opening or funding an account, or paying an evaluation fee.

BROKER RESEARCH FOR SWISS RESIDENTS

IC Markets leads for active traders; Plus500 is the user-friendly proprietary alternative

IC Markets is the strongest first comparison for an active Swiss trader because MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView create a broad third-party platform and automation workflow. Plus500 is the stronger alternative for readers who prefer a user-friendly, self-contained proprietary web/mobile platform and demo environment.

Switzerland is not part of the EU/EEA financial-services passport. A foreign broker can therefore have a Swiss-facing service without being a FINMA-supervised Swiss securities firm. For either route, the first regulatory check is the exact legal entity, its home regulator and the Swiss obligations applying to the relationship.

GradTraders Partner · strongest active-trader fit

IC Markets Global

Why it leads: MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView give active Swiss traders broad platform choice for manual trading, third-party tools and automation rather than locking the workflow into one proprietary interface.

Swiss route: IC Markets Global is the trading name of Raw Trading Ltd, regulated by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority under Securities Dealer licence SD018. At our August 2026 review, Switzerland was not in its standard restricted-country list.

This is not a FINMA-supervised Swiss brokerage relationship. Confirm the account entity, governing law, funding terms and any Swiss client-adviser arrangements before depositing.

GradTraders Partner · clearest Swiss-facing legal route

Plus500

Why it earns the second card: Plus500 is the user-friendly proprietary web/mobile alternative for Swiss readers who prefer a self-contained trading interface and demo environment over an MT5/cTrader workflow with external integrations.

Swiss route: the current Switzerland-facing documents identify Plus500SEY Ltd as the issuer and seller of the products on the Swiss site. Plus500SEY Ltd is regulated by the Seychelles FSA under licence SD039.

The current user agreement also gives customers residing in Switzerland a complaints route to Finanzombudsstelle Schweiz (FINOS) after the provider’s internal process. FINOS is an ombudsman route, not FINMA supervision.

Current Switzerland CFD warning: the Swiss site warns that CFDs are leveraged products and can result in the loss of your entire capital.

PROP FIRMS FOR SWISS TRADERS

FTMO is the strongest first comparison for multilingual Switzerland

FTMO leads because the fit goes beyond simple country acceptance. Switzerland is not in its current exclusion list, and FTMO currently supports German, French and Italian alongside English. That makes it the most natural first benchmark for a country with several major language regions.

GradTraders Partner · multilingual benchmark

FTMO

Why it leads: German, French and Italian support reduces friction around rules and account procedures, while FTMO remains the main GradTraders benchmark for structured evaluation objectives and risk discipline.

FTMO Challenge and FTMO Account use simulated trading environments and are not conventional Swiss brokerage accounts.

GradTraders Partner · patient scaling

The5ers

Why it deserves the second comparison: The5ers is the patient-scaling alternative for traders who value gradual progression and longer-term development rather than simply choosing the fastest evaluation structure. At our August 2026 review, Switzerland was not in its published Forbidden Territories.

GradTraders code: UR06YMJ — verify current purchase terms before using it.

GradTraders Partner · flexible programmes

Funded Trading Plus

Why it earns a place: Funded Trading Plus gives Swiss traders several simulated evaluation structures to compare, so its strongest case is programme flexibility rather than brand size. At our August 2026 review, Switzerland was not on its published prohibited-country list.

GradTraders code: GRADTRADERS10 — check current checkout and programme conditions before purchase.

GradTraders Partner · modern challenger

E8 Markets

Why it completes the selection: E8 adds a newer programme and platform structure for traders who want an alternative to the more established evaluation models. At our August 2026 review, Switzerland was not on E8’s published Forex+Crypto or Futures restricted-country lists.

Eligibility depends on KYC and third-party payment/payout providers, so accepted-country status should be rechecked immediately before purchase.

SOFTWARE & TOOLS FOR SWISS TRADERS

TradingView leads; journaling, backtesting, automation and Zurich VPS options build the workflow

TradingView has the strongest broad Swiss fit through local-market coverage and German, French and Italian interfaces. TraderSync adds a universal journaling layer, Forex Tester supports systematic testing across Switzerland’s main language regions, EA Builder Pro fits MT4/MT5 automation, and both ForexVPS.net and FXVM currently offer Zurich infrastructure for traders who need an always-on trading environment.

GradTraders Partner · strongest Swiss software fit

TradingView

Why it leads: TradingView has dedicated Switzerland market pages for the SMI, Swiss equities and other local market data, with active German, French and Italian versions.

That makes it particularly well suited to a multilingual Swiss audience while keeping Nikkei, DAX, Nasdaq, forex and other global markets in the same charting environment.

GradTraders Partner · universal trading journal

TraderSync

Why it earns a place: TraderSync keeps entries, exits, screenshots, mistakes and recurring patterns in one journal so a Swiss trader can review decisions from records rather than memory.

It also complements the GradTraders Trading Record principle: judge a process over a larger sample instead of remembering only the most recent win or loss.

GradTraders Partner · multilingual backtesting

Forex Tester

Why it fits Switzerland: Forex Tester has German, French and Italian product routes, which makes it a natural way to turn an idea from the livestream or SMI research into written rules and test those rules over a larger historical sample.

GradTraders Partner · MT4/MT5 automation specialist

EA Builder Pro

Why it is a specialist fit: the lead Swiss broker route on this page supports MT4 and MT5, and EA Builder Pro lets traders turn rule-based ideas into MetaTrader Expert Advisors without having to write MQL code from scratch.

It is most relevant for traders who already understand the strategy they want to automate; the tool does not replace testing, risk limits or a reliable VPS if the EA needs to run continuously.

GradTraders Partner · Zurich infrastructure

ForexVPS.net

Why it earns a place: ForexVPS.net currently lists Zurich, Switzerland among its financial data-centre locations, giving traders a local option for keeping MT4/MT5 or another supported terminal running when their own computer is off.

Choose the final VPS location by measured latency to the actual broker server, not simply because Zurich is geographically close.

GradTraders Partner · alternative Zurich VPS

FXVM

Why it deserves a direct comparison: FXVM also lists Zurich among its VPS locations and supports an always-on Windows trading environment, so Swiss traders have a genuine second infrastructure option rather than assuming one VPS provider must be best.

Compare both providers against the broker server you actually use; measured latency, stability and the resources needed by your terminals or EAs matter more than the country name on the server list.

SWITZERLAND · CHECK BEFORE FUNDING

FINMA supervision and FinSA client-adviser registration are different things

Swiss residents should start with the exact contractual entity. A foreign provider can have a Swiss-facing service without becoming a FINMA-supervised Swiss securities firm, while client advisers of foreign providers can have separate Swiss registration obligations when services are provided to private clients.

1. Check FINMA-authorised institutions

If a provider claims Swiss authorisation, verify the legal company directly against FINMA’s current authorised-institution lists. Do not treat a foreign licence, Swiss-language website or Swiss customer acceptance as FINMA supervision.

2. Understand the adviser-register rule

FINMA states that client advisers of foreign financial-service providers generally need entry in a Swiss adviser register when the provider also serves private clients in Switzerland. Registration bodies, rather than FINMA itself, decide adviser-register entries.

3. Check warnings and complaint routes separately

FINMA’s warning list is useful, but absence from that list does not prove authorisation. A Swiss ombudsman route such as FINOS can be relevant to complaints, but it is also not the same as FINMA prudential supervision.

Important note for Swiss residents

For broker accounts, confirm the exact legal entity, regulator, governing law and Swiss client relationship before funding. A Swiss-facing site, Swiss complaint route or foreign licence is not the same as FINMA prudential supervision.

CFDs and other leveraged products can cause substantial losses. The current Plus500 Switzerland site warns that CFDs are leveraged products and can result in the loss of your entire capital. Provider warnings can change and should be rechecked before opening an account.

Prop-firm evaluations can result in lost fees, and simulated account sizes are not cash owned by the trader. The £200 Nikkei 225 Challenge also uses simulated funds and is not audited live-money performance. GradTraders provides general education and research, not personal financial, investment, tax or legal advice.

What time is the Nikkei 225 livestream in Switzerland?

GradTraders goes live shortly before the Tokyo cash market opens every Monday at 9:00 AM JST. The Tokyo open is 1:00 AM during CET and 2:00 AM during CEST in Switzerland.

Is the £200 Nikkei 225 Challenge real-money trading?

No. It uses simulated funds. Decisions and results are documented publicly, but the record is not audited live-money performance.

Why does IC Markets lead the Swiss broker section?

IC Markets Global combines MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView, making it the strongest of the highlighted routes for third-party platforms, automation and active-trader workflows. The serving entity is Raw Trading Ltd, Seychelles FSA SD018, not a FINMA-supervised Swiss securities firm.

Why is Plus500 the second broker route?

Plus500 is the user-friendly proprietary alternative for readers who prefer a self-contained web/mobile platform and demo environment. The Swiss-facing route identifies Plus500SEY Ltd, Seychelles FSA SD039, as the issuer and seller; this is not FINMA supervision.

Can foreign financial-service providers serve Swiss private clients without being FINMA-supervised Swiss brokers?

A Swiss-facing service does not by itself create FINMA prudential supervision. FINMA separately explains that client advisers of foreign providers can have Swiss adviser-register obligations when services are provided to private clients in Switzerland.

Which prop firm is the strongest first comparison for Switzerland?

FTMO. Switzerland is not in its current exclusion list and FTMO supports German, French and Italian as well as English, making it a particularly strong fit for multilingual Switzerland.

Switzerland is not in the current published restricted-country lists reviewed for these three providers. KYC, payments, platforms and payout-provider rules can still change.

Why is Forex Tester a strong Swiss fit?

Forex Tester has German, French and Italian product routes, making systematic backtesting easier across Switzerland’s main language regions.

Why is EA Builder Pro included?

EA Builder Pro is a specialist fit because the lead active-trader broker route supports MT4 and MT5, and the tool can turn rule-based ideas into MetaTrader Expert Advisors without requiring the trader to code the strategy from scratch.

Do ForexVPS.net and FXVM have server locations in Switzerland?

Yes. Both currently list Zurich among their VPS locations. The better choice depends on measured latency, stability and the resources required by the trading setup rather than geography alone.

Is the Prop Firm Offer Finder free?

Yes. It can filter more than 140,000 possible combinations and is free to use.

Does the Compound Interest Calculator require an account?

No. It is free and works in the browser without an email address or account.
