Broker Market Coverage and Specialist Products Compared

This is the sixth deeper-data layer beneath the GradTraders 24-broker comparison table. It maps how each broker fits by product route: indices, Japan 225/Nikkei-style access, forex, crypto CFDs, shares, ETFs, spread betting, CFD markets and professional listed-market alternatives.

Quick Verdict

Product coverage is not just about how many markets a broker advertises. For GradTraders, the real question is whether the product route fits the trader: UK spread betting for tax-relevant index trading, low-cost CFDs for active traders, listed futures or exchange access for professionals, or broader shares and ETFs for investors.

IC Markets, Pepperstone and FP Markets remain important active-trader names for CFD/index style access. IG, CMC Markets and City Index are stronger traditional UK spread betting/CFD market-range names. Saxo and Interactive Brokers stand apart as professional multi-asset/listed-market routes rather than ordinary CFD-only brokers.

What This Data Layer Covers From The Master Bank

The public comparison table cannot explain every product route without becoming unreadable. This page gives the product-fit layer: what type of market access each broker is most relevant for and where the main caveat sits.

Product Availability Notes

Product availability changes by legal entity, country, client classification, platform and regulation. A broker may advertise crypto CFDs, spread betting, shares, ETFs, futures-style CFDs or index products globally, but that does not mean every client can access the same instruments after opening an account.

This page is therefore a product-route map, not a promise that a specific instrument is available to every trader. Before opening an account, verify the live instrument list, legal entity, account type, platform and country restrictions directly with the broker.

Market Coverage By Broker

This table groups each broker by core market route, index relevance, crypto/digital-asset caveat, share/ETF route and product tags. It is designed to support the individual broker reviews and the specialist “best broker” articles.

Product labels are deliberately cautious because exact instrument lists can change. The aim is to show product-route fit, not to replace a broker’s live markets page.

Specialist Product Fit And Caveats

A broker may be excellent for one product route and weak for another. This table explains the specialist angle and the product caveat that should remain visible when GradTraders links to or reviews that broker.

Broker Best For Specialist Product Angle Main Product Caveat Main Trade-Off Tags
IC Markets Active traders, scalpers, index traders, cTrader users, TradingView users and traders prioritising low costs and margin flexibility. Best treated as an active-trader CFD/index broker rather than a tax-wrapper or long-term investing route. No UK spread betting route found in the master bank; UK traders must understand the non-UK/global CFD route and protection trade-off. Strong trading conditions, but weaker UK-specific protection and no spread betting tax wrapper. Active TraderCFD RouteGlobal Route
Pepperstone UK active traders who want FCA regulation, spread betting, cTrader and TradingView in one place. Best balanced UK active-trader route across indices, FX, spread betting and third-party platforms. UK retail leverage is restricted; high-leverage comparisons must not be confused with the FCA retail route. Lower retail leverage than offshore/global brokers under FCA rules. Active TraderUK RouteSpread Betting
FP Markets Algorithmic traders, cTrader users, TradingView users and traders wanting strong platform choice with raw pricing. Useful for traders comparing low-cost CFD trading with broader share/market-access options. UK route/tax wrapper is weaker than a dedicated UK spread betting broker. Excellent platform/cost profile, but weaker UK-specific appeal without FCA spread betting. Active TraderCFD RoutePlatform Fit
IG UK traders, spread bettors, beginners, investors and traders prioritising regulation, trust and broad market access. Best traditional UK multi-market brand in the GradTraders framework. Costs, spreads and platform feel may not always beat specialist low-cost active-trader brokers. Less suited to traders prioritising cTrader, maximum leverage or lowest raw-spread execution costs. UK RouteSpread BettingBroad Markets
CMC Markets UK spread bettors, multi-asset traders, platform users and traders who value broad market access. Best treated as a mature UK platform/market-range broker rather than a cTrader-led active-trader broker. Proprietary platform focus may not suit traders who require cTrader or a portable MT5/TradingView workflow. No cTrader; platform/account structure can feel more fragmented than some rivals. UK RouteSpread BettingBroad Markets
OANDA Forex traders, UK spread bettors, TradingView users, MT4 users and traders who value a long-established broker. Useful regulated FX/CFD broker and important because of US forex relevance. Do not treat OANDA’s US-facing forex route as equivalent to UK/EU/global CFD market coverage. No cTrader; active-trader proposition feels less aggressive than IC Markets, Pepperstone or FP Markets. UK RouteForexUS Route
FOREX.com Forex traders, TradingView users, MT4/MT5 users, US traders needing a regulated US forex route. Important for FX-focused and US-regulated comparison work. US clients cannot simply access the same CFD product range available in other regions. Strong forex brand and US access, but less compelling than Pepperstone/IC/FP for cTrader-style active trading. ForexUS RouteUK Route
Saxo Serious traders, investors, multi-asset users, options/futures/share traders and higher-value accounts. Best for serious multi-asset traders/investors rather than lowest-cost small-account scalping. Complexity, account size and pricing structure may not fit small beginner traders. Strong platform and market access, but no obvious UK spread betting route, no cTrader and not the simplest broker for beginners. ProfessionalMulti-AssetInvesting
Interactive Brokers Serious traders, investors, futures/options traders, global market access, US traders, sophisticated multi-asset users. Best professional exchange-access route for serious traders and investors. Not a simple UK spread betting broker and not a beginner-friendly CFD marketing route. Powerful but complex. Not ideal for traders who specifically want spread betting, cTrader or a simple retail CFD interface. ProfessionalListed MarketsGlobal RouteUS Route
Capital.com UK spread bettors, newer traders, TradingView users, mobile-first CFD traders and mainstream multi-market users. Useful for modern app-first CFD traders and TradingView workflow comparisons. Not the same proposition as a cTrader/raw-spread active-trader broker or a full investing platform. No cTrader, country restrictions are significant, and the highest leverage figures do not apply universally. UK RouteSpread BettingSimple Platform
Eightcap TradingView users, active CFD traders, crypto/FX/index CFD traders outside restricted jurisdictions. Good for TradingView/MT5 CFD traders where the entity is suitable. UK suitability and product availability should be checked carefully by entity. Spreadex UK spread bettors, financial spread betting specialists, traders who want a smaller UK provider rather than a global platform giant. Specialist UK spread betting route. XTB UK CFD traders, investors, xStation users, traders wanting stocks/ETFs alongside leveraged products. Best proprietary-platform route for mainstream users rather than advanced cTrader/MT5 scalpers. Platform lock-in and product differences by entity must be understood. No spread betting, no cTrader and no MetaTrader route found. Strong platform, but less flexible for advanced platform-led traders. UK RouteInvesting / CFDSimple Platform
Plus500 Beginners comparing mainstream CFD providers, mobile-first traders, traders who want a simple proprietary platform. Best understood as a simple proprietary CFD platform. eToro Social traders, copy traders, beginner investors, crypto/stock users and traders who value community features. Best social/copy-trading and multi-asset user route. Not a natural fit for low-spread, high-frequency active trading. Not designed as a high-performance active-trader broker; no cTrader, no MT4/MT5, no spread betting route found. Copy / SocialInvestingBeginner
City Index UK spread bettors, forex traders, TradingView users, traders wanting a recognised UK spread betting/CFD provider. Established UK CFD/spread betting route with TradingView/MT4 support. Not a cTrader-led broker; active-trader appeal depends on platform preference and pricing. No cTrader, and ownership/entity links with StoneX/FOREX.com need to be explained clearly to avoid confusion. UK RouteSpread BettingTradingView
Trade Nation UK spread bettors, fixed-spread traders, TradingView users, traders who value simple pricing. Simple spread-betting/platform option with TradingView/MT4 comparison value. Less deep than larger multi-market platforms for specialist or professional traders. Not as broad or institutionally established as IG/CMC; no cTrader; entity and product availability vary by region. UK RouteSpread BettingFixed Spread
Tickmill Forex traders, raw-spread users, MT4/MT5 users, TradingView users, strategy traders. Best for cost-sensitive forex/CFD and MT5 users. Exness International forex/CFD traders outside restricted jurisdictions who want very high leverage, MT4/MT5, low deposits and a global CFD broker. Global high-leverage CFD broker for eligible non-UK style routes. Not suitable to present as a UK FCA/spread betting solution. Huge global leverage/search relevance, but poor UK suitability because UK residents are restricted and there is no UK spread betting route. Global RouteHigh Leverage Caveat
XM Global forex/CFD traders, MT4/MT5 users, traders wanting low minimum deposit and a large international broker brand. Large global MT4/MT5 CFD broker. UK suitability and protection route need caution. Strong global brand/search demand, but UK-specific status and exact retail route need careful checking before recommending to UK traders. Global RouteMT4 / MT5Verify UK Route
AvaTrade Traders wanting broad platform choice, MT4/MT5, options-style FX tools, copy/social trading and a multi-regulated global broker. Options/copy-trading and broad platform/product mix are the specialist angles. Less compelling for pure raw-spread scalping than the specialist active-trader brokers. Strong platform range, but cTrader is not present and the UK spread betting/regulatory route needs direct confirmation before being treated like IG, CMC or Pepperstone. Global RouteCopy / SocialOptions
HFM / HotForex Global forex/CFD traders, MT4/MT5 users, high-leverage seekers outside restricted retail jurisdictions, and traders wanting a multi-entity broker with an FCA-regulated group route. Global MetaTrader-led CFD broker with FCA/global route differences. Entity and client-protection route must be checked before UK-facing conclusions. FxPro UK traders wanting spread betting plus multi-platform choice, cTrader users, MT4/MT5 users, TradingView users and traders who want a regulated broker with strong platform breadth. One of the broadest platform-stack brokers for multi-platform CFD traders. Pricing and route choice must be compared carefully against IC/Pepperstone/FP. Product Route, UK Tax Route And US-Client Reality

Product coverage cannot be separated from jurisdiction. UK spread betting, CFD accounts, offshore/global entities, US forex restrictions and professional listed-market access are different routes, even when the market name looks similar.

Broker UK Tax-Relevant Route UK FCA Route? US Clients? Jurisdiction Note Product Route Caveat
IC Markets CFD route only for UK traders; no spread betting tax wrapper found. No UK FCA retail route found. No. IC Markets restricts US clients. IC Markets is the clearest example of why leverage must be shown by jurisdiction. The global route may suit active traders, but it is not the same as UK FCA protection. No UK spread betting route found in the master bank; UK traders must understand the non-UK/global CFD route and protection trade-off.
Pepperstone UK spread betting and CFD route available. Yes. Pepperstone UK is FCA-regulated. No clear US retail CFD route found; treat as not US-facing unless confirmed. Pepperstone is potentially one of the strongest UK-active-trader entries because it combines FCA regulation, spread betting, cTrader and TradingView. UK retail leverage is restricted; high-leverage comparisons must not be confused with the FCA retail route.
FP Markets CFD route only for UK traders; no spread betting tax wrapper found. No UK FCA route found. No official US route found; treat as restricted unless confirmed. FP Markets is strong on platforms and pricing, but the UK trader loses the spread betting tax advantage available at some UK brokers. UK route/tax wrapper is weaker than a dedicated UK spread betting broker.
IG UK spread betting and CFD route available. Yes. Strong FCA-regulated UK route. Yes, via IG US for forex. IG is one of the cleanest UK spread betting routes, even if it is not the cheapest active-trader execution broker. Costs, spreads and platform feel may not always beat specialist low-cost active-trader brokers.
CMC Markets UK spread betting and CFD route available. Yes. CMC Markets UK plc is FCA-regulated. No US retail CFD/spread betting route identified. CMC is valuable because it represents the UK-regulated, tax-efficient spread betting alternative to global CFD brokers. Proprietary platform focus may not suit traders who require cTrader or a portable MT5/TradingView workflow.
OANDA UK spread betting and CFD route available; US forex route also available. Yes. OANDA Europe Limited is FCA-regulated. Yes. OANDA Corporation serves US forex clients. OANDA is important because it helps answer both UK and US trader questions in the same comparison framework. Do not treat OANDA’s US-facing forex route as equivalent to UK/EU/global CFD market coverage.
FOREX.com UK CFD/forex route available. Spread betting needs confirmation before scoring as a clear UK spread-betting provider. Yes. UK route through StoneX Financial Ltd. Yes. FOREX.com has a US-regulated forex route. FOREX.com is important because it helps answer US-access searches, but UK spread betting availability needs confirming carefully before publication. US clients cannot simply access the same CFD product range available in other regions.
Saxo UK CFD/investment route available. No current UK spread betting route found. Yes. UK FCA route available. No. Saxo states it cannot offer services to US persons. Saxo belongs in the table because it covers the serious multi-asset end of the market, not because it is the best fit for high-leverage retail CFD traders. Complexity, account size and pricing structure may not fit small beginner traders.
Interactive Brokers UK investment/CFD route available. No spread betting route found. Yes. IBUK FCA route available. Yes. IBKR serves US clients through US-regulated entities. Interactive Brokers is a serious broker benchmark. It may not fit the spread betting/cTrader audience, but it adds authority and US/global coverage. Not a simple UK spread betting broker and not a beginner-friendly CFD marketing route.
Capital.com UK spread betting and CFD route available. Yes. FCA route available. No. Capital.com lists the United States among unavailable countries. Capital.com is useful for mainstream UK spread betting and TradingView/MT4 searches, but jurisdiction and country restrictions need clear notes. Not the same proposition as a cTrader/raw-spread active-trader broker or a full investing platform.
Eightcap UK CFD route only. No UK spread betting route found. Yes. FCA route available. No. Eightcap international agreement material restricts US citizens/tax residents. Eightcap is a platform-led entry. Its UK appeal is TradingView; its global appeal is broader platform and higher leverage access. UK suitability and product availability should be checked carefully by entity.
Spreadex UK spread betting and CFD route available. Yes. UK FCA route available. No US route identified. Spreadex is not a global platform giant, but it strengthens the UK spread betting and tax-route coverage of the GradTraders Broker Master Bank. Less relevant for traders wanting cTrader, MT5 automation or a global multi-platform stack.
XTB UK CFD and investment route available; no spread betting tax wrapper found. Yes. UK clients are onboarded to XTB Limited, the FCA-regulated entity. No clear US client route found; treat as restricted unless confirmed. XTB is a strong mainstream FCA-regulated broker, but it does not solve the UK spread betting/tax-free trading problem. Platform lock-in and product differences by entity must be understood.
Plus500 UK CFD route available; no UK spread betting route found. Yes. UK FCA route available through Plus500UK Ltd. Plus500 does not provide CFD services to US residents; US traders are directed to Plus500 US futures. Plus500 is important for search volume and mainstream CFD comparison, but it is not a platform-rich active-trader broker in the GradTraders sense. Weak for traders who require cTrader, advanced automation, raw pricing or platform portability.
eToro UK investment and CFD route available; no spread betting route found. Yes. eToro UK Ltd is FCA-regulated. Yes, through eToro US, but product availability differs and CFDs are restricted by country. eToro belongs in the table because it captures copy-trading/social-trading search intent, but it should not be scored like a cTrader/raw-spread active broker. Not a natural fit for low-spread, high-frequency active trading.
City Index UK spread betting and CFD route available. Yes. UK FCA route available. No separate City Index US retail CFD/spread betting route identified; StoneX/FOREX.com covers the US-access angle separately. City Index is a strong UK spread betting entry and also helps explain the relationship between City Index, FOREX.com and StoneX. Not a cTrader-led broker; active-trader appeal depends on platform preference and pricing.
Trade Nation UK spread betting and CFD route available. Yes. UK FCA route available. No US retail route identified. Trade Nation strengthens the UK spread betting section because it offers fixed-spread positioning and TradingView compatibility. Less deep than larger multi-market platforms for specialist or professional traders.
Tickmill UK CFD route available; no spread betting route found. Yes. UK FCA route available. No clear US retail route found; treat as restricted unless confirmed. Tickmill is useful for low-cost forex and platform searches, but UK traders lose the spread betting tax wrapper. UK spread betting and product breadth must be checked by entity.
Exness No UK spread betting route found; no UK retail route suitable for tax-free spread betting content. No active UK retail route found for this table. FCA register references Exness (UK) Ltd, but the public global service states UK residents are not served. No. Exness states its entities do not offer services to residents of the USA. Exness is important for global broker search volume, but it should be handled carefully on a UK-led site because the UK route is effectively restricted. Not suitable to present as a UK FCA/spread betting solution.
XM No UK spread betting tax wrapper found. Unclear for current public-facing account route. UK legal documents reference Trading Point of Financial Instruments UK Limited as FCA-regulated, but the main current regulation page should be checked before presenting XM as a current UK FCA route. No. XM client agreement material states it does not accept trading from clients residing in the United States. XM belongs in the Master Bank because of global search volume, but the UK route must be marked as unresolved until account eligibility is directly checked. UK suitability and protection route need caution.
AvaTrade Spread betting appears in AvaTrade official support/education material, but final UK tax-route wording should wait for direct account-route confirmation. No clear FCA route confirmed from the official regulation page reviewed. Treat UK spread betting as a product/eligibility item needing confirmation. No normal retail CFD route identified for US clients; treat as restricted unless confirmed. AvaTrade is attractive for platform and copy/options breadth, but GradTraders should avoid overstating its UK spread betting route until the precise entity and eligibility are confirmed. Less compelling for pure raw-spread scalping than the specialist active-trader brokers.
HFM / HotForex UK CFD route only; no UK spread betting tax wrapper found. Yes. HF Markets (UK) Ltd is authorised and regulated by the FCA under FRN 801701. No. HFM states it does not offer services to residents of the USA and other restricted jurisdictions. HFM is important for global/high-leverage forex search, but on GradTraders it should be clearly separated from UK spread betting brokers. Entity and client-protection route must be checked before UK-facing conclusions.
FxPro UK spread betting and CFD route available. Yes. FxPro UK Limited is authorised and regulated by the FCA. No. FxPro FAQ says it does not offer CFDs to residents of the United States and certain other countries. FxPro is one of the better Batch 4 fits for GradTraders because it combines FCA regulation, spread betting and broad platform choice including cTrader and TradingView. Pricing and route choice must be compared carefully against IC/Pepperstone/FP.
Vantage UK CFD route only; no UK spread betting tax wrapper found. Yes, via Vantage Global Prime LLP / Vantage UK route, but users must intentionally use the UK-regulated site rather than a global/offshore route. No. Vantage states it does not offer services to residents of the United States and certain other jurisdictions. Vantage is useful for TradingView/MT4/MT5 and active CFD searches, but the Master Bank must clearly separate UK FCA access from global high-leverage onboarding. UK entity/product availability and protection route must be checked carefully.

How GradTraders Uses Market Coverage Data

For Active Trading

Active traders usually care most about the route to indices, forex, commodities, crypto CFDs and platform execution. For GradTraders, this is why IC Markets, Pepperstone, FP Markets, Tickmill, Eightcap, FxPro and Vantage appear in several active-trader comparisons.

  • Index availability matters for Japan 225/Nikkei-style trading.
  • Crypto CFD availability must be checked by jurisdiction.
  • Platform and execution still matter more than raw product count.

For Investing And Professional Access

Investors and professional traders may need a very different product route. Saxo and Interactive Brokers are more relevant when shares, ETFs, options, bonds, futures or exchange-listed access matter more than simple CFD/spread betting.

  • CFDs and spread betting are not the same as owning shares or ETFs.
  • Listed futures routes differ from broker-created CFD markets.
  • Professional access can be powerful but more complex.

Final View

Data Layer 6 completes the deeper broker-research structure by showing how market access differs by broker type. A simple CFD broker, a UK spread betting broker, a global high-leverage CFD broker, a social investing platform and a professional multi-asset broker should not be compared as though they are the same thing.

This layer is especially useful for GradTraders because it supports the site’s most distinctive areas: active index trading, Japan 225/Nikkei coverage, UK route analysis, broker suitability and the separation between short-term trading and long-term investing.

Source note: this page is based on the GradTraders broker master bank, the public broker comparison fields, jurisdiction notes, practical GradTraders verdicts and product-route editorial classification. Market availability can change and should be verified on the broker’s live markets/instruments page before opening an account.

This page is not financial advice, tax advice or a recommendation to open an account. Trading CFDs, forex, spread betting, crypto CFDs and other leveraged products involves significant risk. You may lose some or all of your capital.
