FP Markets Review 2026: Is It A Serious Broker For Active Traders?
FP Markets scores 9.0/10 and is one of the strongest research-led brokers for active traders. Its standout strength is the breadth of its platform and execution choice: MetaTrader, cTrader, TradingView and specialist Iress Direct Market Access can cover very different trading styles. This is an international review, so the exact legal entity, products, leverage, protections and platform access available to you depend on where you live.
A concise summary of the 9.0/10 verdict, broad platform choice, Iress DMA advantage and route-specific limitations.
Disclosure & Risk Notice: This article is educational and informational content, not financial advice, investment advice, tax advice or a personal recommendation. CFDs, forex, share CFDs, futures CFDs and other leveraged derivatives can cause rapid losses. Protection, leverage and the possibility of losses beyond the deposited balance can depend on the accepting entity and client classification.
GradTraders has a commercial relationship with FP Markets. If you open an eligible account through the GradTraders partner link, GradTraders may earn commission at no additional cost. That relationship does not determine the independent 9.0/10 rating or remove the entity, cost and platform limitations recorded in this research-led review.
Eligible international readers can visit FP Markets through the GradTraders partner link. FP Markets currently lists the United Kingdom and United States among jurisdictions where services are not offered on relevant international pages, and other restrictions can apply. Use your country gateway and the broker’s current legal documents before opening an account.
FP Markets Review Quick Verdict: A Top-Tier Platform And DMA Broker
FP Markets is one of the strongest active-trader brokers in the GradTraders comparison bank. Its defining advantage is not simply a Raw spread. It is the combination of MetaTrader, cTrader and TradingView with specialist Iress Direct Market Access for traders who genuinely need exchange pricing and market depth.
The 9.0/10 score is research-led. I have not personally traded and withdrawn through an FP Markets account, so IC Markets retains the stronger direct-use GradTraders position at 9.2/10. FP Markets can still be the better fit when Iress, full market depth, exchange-linked share-CFD execution or unusually broad platform choice is central to the decision.
The main weakness is complexity. Standard, Raw, cTrader, TradingView and Iress do not all come with one universal set of costs, products or protections. International readers should confirm the exact FP Markets entity and account available in their country before assuming the terms described on another regional site apply to them.
9.0/10 — a top-tier research-led active-trader proposition.
Experienced traders wanting broad platform and execution choice.
Iress DMA and exchange depth alongside MetaTrader, cTrader and TradingView.
Entity, availability, protection and total cost vary by jurisdiction and account.
Affiliate eligibility: the FP Markets partner link is for eligible jurisdictions only. Current FP Markets international pages list the United Kingdom and United States among restricted jurisdictions; other restrictions can apply.
FP Markets Around The World: Start With Your Country Gateway
FP Markets is an international broker group, but it should not be treated as one identical account worldwide. The legal company, regulator, products, leverage, platforms and client protections can change with the country and onboarding route.
GradTraders’ 20 country gateways are designed to do the local part of that research. They align international readers with the brokers and trading routes that make the most sense in each market. Choose your country below, then use this review for the deeper FP Markets platform, pricing, Iress and research evidence.
Americas
Middle East & Africa
Important: a GradTraders country gateway is local research and partner-selection context, not a statement that FP Markets accepts every resident or provides the same entity in every country. Confirm current eligibility and the legal company shown during onboarding before opening or funding an account. The GradTraders International hub links the full country network.
United States: FP Markets currently lists the United States among jurisdictions where services are not offered. The US gateway is therefore included for local trading research and alternative broker routes, not as an FP Markets account-access route.
UK Regulatory Note
FP Markets’ current international material lists the United Kingdom among jurisdictions where services are not offered, and the FCA maintains a warning for FP Markets. UK residents should therefore treat this as international broker research rather than a UK account-opening route and should not use the FP Markets affiliate links on this page. Review the FCA warning.
This is a UK-specific restriction within a global review. Readers elsewhere should still check the exact FP Markets entity, eligibility, products and protections that apply in their own country.

Which FP Markets Account And Platform Should You Choose?
FP Markets should be selected by workflow. Standard and Raw are pricing structures. MT4, MT5 and cTrader are execution platforms. TradingView is listed on the Raw cTrader route. Iress is a separate specialist environment for eligible exchange-traded CFD products.
Standard Account
The current published MetaTrader table lists spreads from 1.0 pips, zero separate forex commission, a minimum deposit of AUD 100 or equivalent and maximum leverage of 500:1.
GradTraders view: easier to understand, but active traders should compare the complete spread and financing cost against Raw pricing.
Raw Account
The current published MetaTrader table lists spreads from 0.0 pips and a USD 3 commission per standard lot per side. The cTrader fee page uses the same USD 3-per-lot each-way structure for Raw forex and metals.
GradTraders view: the core route for scalpers, active forex traders and users who understand spread-plus-commission pricing.
cTrader And TradingView
FP Markets offers Standard and Raw cTrader accounts. TradingView connects through the Raw cTrader route and the integrated cTrader ID supplied with the live FP Markets account.
GradTraders view: the strongest non-MetaTrader route for chart-led discretionary traders and users who want TradingView execution.
Iress DMA
Iress provides genuine exchange pricing, market depth and DMA execution on eligible exchange-traded CFDs. The published retail schedule lists a $1,000 minimum balance and route-specific brokerage, data and platform charges.
GradTraders view: FP Markets’ clearest differentiator, but unnecessary for most ordinary forex and index-CFD traders.
Why FP Markets Stands Apart: Iress Direct Market Access
Iress is not another cosmetic charting option beside MT5 or cTrader. FP Markets uses it to provide DMA pricing on eligible exchange-traded CFDs. The broker states that clients receive a genuine exchange price feed, full market depth and access to the exchange order book, with DMA orders hedged in the underlying market.
Exchange Prices And Order-Book Visibility
Traders can see multiple bid and offer levels, analyse liquidity, submit limit orders and interact with the exchange-linked queue on eligible products. Opening and closing auction access may also be available.
Ownership Or Guaranteed Execution
The position remains a leveraged CFD rather than legal ownership of the underlying asset. Queue position, available liquidity, partial fills, financing, exchange commission and platform fees still matter.
Iress is most relevant to active share-CFD traders, equity specialists and traders who genuinely use market depth. Someone mainly trading EUR/USD or an index CFD may gain more practical value from the lower-complexity Raw cTrader or MetaTrader routes.
Iress Costs: The Specialist Advantage Is Not Free
The published Iress schedule lists a $1,000 minimum balance for retail and professional routes. ASX brokerage, financing, live-data and platform costs can then apply according to account type and activity.
The current Australian Iress schedule lists Iress ViewPoint at $75 including GST, waived after generating $150 in monthly commission, and an ASX live-data fee of $25 including GST, waived after $50 in eligible monthly commission. Another published regional fee page shows different Iress platform figures, demonstrating why the exact entity schedule must be checked rather than copied from a generic comparison.
ViewPoint Essential and delayed data can be free on the published route, but the lower-cost interface does not automatically include every professional feature or live exchange feed.
FP Markets Rating Breakdown
The category scores are editorial judgements rather than a mathematical promise. The overall 9.0/10 is not a simple average: it weighs platform breadth, active-trader costs, DMA capability, entity clarity, evidence quality and suitability. See How GradTraders Reviews Brokers, Prop Firms & Trading Software for the wider methodology.
| Category | Rating | GradTraders View |
|---|---|---|
| Platform Breadth | 9.8/10 | MetaTrader, cTrader, TradingView and Iress cover very different workflows. |
| Active-Trader Pricing | 9.0/10 | Competitive Raw terms, although true cost remains instrument-specific. |
| DMA And Iress | 9.6/10 | A genuine specialist advantage for exchange-focused traders. |
| Account Flexibility | 9.4/10 | Multiple pricing and platform combinations suit different active-trading methods. |
| Entity Clarity | 8/10 | The global group is substantial, but regional pages and availability require careful checking. |
| Direct-Use Evidence | 7.5/10 | This remains a research-led review rather than a personal account test. |
| Beginner Suitability | 7/10 | The breadth is powerful but can create unnecessary complexity. |
| GradTraders Rating | 9.0/10 | Excellent for the intended active-trader use case |
How I Assessed FP Markets Without A Personal Account
This review is based on current FP Markets account tables, platform pages, cTrader and Iress fee schedules, DMA explanations, regulatory pages and comparisons with the wider GradTraders broker research bank.
Unlike the IC Markets review, it does not include my own FP Markets execution, support or withdrawal history. The product and pricing assessment can therefore be strong while direct operational confidence remains lower.
That distinction is why FP Markets sits at 9.0/10 rather than automatically matching or exceeding the 9.2/10 IC Markets benchmark. A future first-hand account test could strengthen or weaken the score.
Trading Costs: Standard, Raw And cTrader
The Standard account builds more of the trading charge into the spread. The Raw account can display tighter pricing while charging a separate commission. Neither structure is automatically cheaper for every instrument or holding period.
The current published MetaTrader table lists Standard spreads from 1.0 pips with zero separate commission and Raw spreads from 0.0 pips with USD 3 per standard lot per side. The cTrader fee page applies the USD 3-per-lot each-way charge to Raw forex and metals, while indices, commodities and cryptocurrencies currently show no separate cTrader commission on that table.
Total cost can also include overnight financing, currency conversion, equity-CFD commission, minimum exchange charges, market data and Iress platform fees.
Platforms: MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView And Iress
MetaTrader 4
Relevant to established forex workflows, Expert Advisors, custom indicators and users with long-standing MT4 tools.
MetaTrader 5
The broader MetaTrader route for newer automation, multi-asset CFD access and a more modern architecture.
cTrader / TradingView
cTrader provides the modern execution route, while TradingView is available through the Raw cTrader account and its integrated cTrader ID.
Iress
The specialist DMA environment for eligible exchange-traded products, market depth and professional order management.
The platform list is a strength only when each option serves a real purpose. Opening several accounts without understanding their pricing and entity differences creates complexity rather than diversification.
FP Markets Regulation Around The World: Entity Before Brand
FP Markets operates through several legal companies, so the group name alone does not tell a trader which protections or products apply. The current FP Markets group material lists separately regulated operations including Australia, Europe, South Africa, Seychelles and Kenya, alongside a Saint Lucia-registered global company.
The regional examples show why country context matters. First Prudential Markets Pty Ltd is regulated by ASIC in Australia under AFS Licence 286354. The European route identifies First Prudential Markets Ltd as regulated by CySEC under licence 371/18. FP Markets (Pty) Ltd is authorised by the FSCA in South Africa under FSP 50926, while the Seychelles entity is regulated by the FSA under licence SD130. FP Markets also lists a Kenya CMA licence and a Saint Lucia-registered global entity.
Those routes are not interchangeable. The accepting company controls the regulator, leverage, negative-balance treatment, compensation or complaint route, platform access, product set and country restrictions. A platform or term published on one FP Markets site should not be assumed to apply through another entity.
FP Markets states that retail client funds are segregated from company capital on its regulation pages. That is a positive operational safeguard, but segregation is not a guarantee against every loss or insolvency scenario and it does not make all FP Markets entities equivalent.
International rule: entity before brand. Use the country gateway above for local context, then match the legal company named in your client agreement to the relevant regulator and current product documents.
Funding And Withdrawals
The current FAQ states that deposits returned through a withdrawal generally need to go back by the same method before profits can be withdrawn through an alternative eligible route. That return-to-source structure is common in broker payment controls but can surprise new clients.
FP Markets states that it does not charge deposit fees on the published funding material, although banks, card providers, wallets and currency conversion can still create external costs.
This remains research-led evidence. Unlike IC Markets, I am not using personal completed withdrawals as support for the FP Markets score.

FP Markets vs IC Markets And Pepperstone
All three belong on an active-trader shortlist, but they solve different priorities.
FP Markets — 9.0/10
Strongest when the trader values Iress, market depth, exchange-linked products or the broadest platform ecosystem.
IC Markets — 9.2/10
The stronger GradTraders direct-use route through personal trading, platform and withdrawal evidence.
Pepperstone
A more natural comparison for many UK traders prioritising an FCA-facing route, spread betting, cTrader and TradingView.
Open the detailed comparisons: FP Markets vs IC Markets and Pepperstone vs FP Markets.
Is FP Markets Legit?
In the GradTraders view, FP Markets is a legitimate and long-established global broker group with published account, platform, fee and regulatory documentation.
That conclusion should not be overextended. A global brand can operate through several entities with materially different protections and product availability. The legal company shown in the account agreement matters more than a list of group licences.
The practical question is whether the exact FP Markets route provides enough platform, pricing or DMA value to justify its costs and entity framework for the individual trader.
Important distinction: Group credibility does not make Iress cheap, Raw pricing universally lowest, or every regional account equally protected.

FP Markets Review Final Verdict: A 9.0/10 Platform And DMA Specialist
FP Markets is a serious broker for active traders and one of the strongest platform-led alternatives to IC Markets. MetaTrader, cTrader, TradingView and Iress give it a broader execution identity than a conventional Raw-spread broker, with Iress providing the clearest specialist reason to choose it.
IC Markets remains the 9.2/10 GradTraders active-trader benchmark because that review includes direct personal trading and withdrawal evidence. FP Markets can nevertheless be the stronger fit when Iress, exchange depth, share-CFD DMA or platform breadth matters more than the strength of GradTraders’ first-hand evidence.
The 9.0/10 rating stops short of a higher score because the review remains research-led and FP Markets is not one identical account worldwide. International readers should identify the entity and products available in their country, then compare those terms with the platform and pricing strengths described here. The 20 GradTraders country gateways are there to make that local check easier.
GradTraders verdict: FP Markets is the Platform-Breadth & DMA Leader in the current broker shortlist. It is particularly compelling for experienced traders who know why they want Iress or a specific multi-platform setup rather than simply choosing the broker with the longest platform list.
Eligibility note: the FP Markets partner link is for eligible jurisdictions only. Current FP Markets international pages list the United Kingdom and United States among restricted jurisdictions. Confirm current eligibility and the accepting entity before opening an account.
FP Markets Review FAQ
Is FP Markets good for active traders?
Yes, in the GradTraders view. FP Markets combines competitive Standard and Raw account structures with MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and specialist Iress Direct Market Access. It is strongest for experienced traders who will use that platform breadth deliberately. The exact entity, products and protections available can vary by country.
How should international readers use this FP Markets review?
Use the review for the detailed platform, pricing, Iress and research-led assessment, then use the relevant GradTraders country gateway to check local broker suitability, availability and regulatory context. A country gateway is not proof that FP Markets accepts every resident or uses the same legal entity there.
Which FP Markets account is best?
Standard is simpler for traders who prefer spread-based pricing. Raw is more relevant to active forex and metals traders who understand the separate commission. cTrader and TradingView suit modern chart-led workflows, while Iress is a specialist route for exchange-focused share-CFD and futures traders. Availability depends on the exact entity and account.
What is the minimum deposit at FP Markets?
Current international Standard and Raw account tables list a minimum deposit of US$100 or equivalent, although regional requirements can differ. The published Iress retail schedule lists a 1,000-dollar minimum balance. Exact requirements can vary by entity, platform and account route.
What is Iress at FP Markets?
Iress is a professional market-data and order-entry platform used by FP Markets for Direct Market Access on eligible exchange-traded CFD products. It can provide exchange prices, full market depth and order-book access, but it can also involve platform, market-data, financing and exchange-commission costs.
Does FP Markets support TradingView?
Yes. FP Markets provides TradingView through the Raw cTrader route and its integrated cTrader ID on supported routes. Availability should be confirmed for the exact legal entity and account selected.
Is FP Markets regulated?
FP Markets operates through several legal entities and regulatory routes. Current group material identifies regulated entities in Australia, Europe, South Africa, Seychelles and Kenya, alongside a Saint Lucia-registered global company. The protection that applies depends on the exact company accepting the account.
Can UK or US residents use the FP Markets route in this review?
FP Markets currently lists the United Kingdom and United States among jurisdictions where services are not offered on relevant international pages. UK readers also have an FCA warning to consider. Readers in those countries should use the relevant local GradTraders research and alternative broker routes rather than the FP Markets affiliate links on this page.
Is FP Markets better than IC Markets?
IC Markets ranks slightly higher at 9.2 out of 10 because it has stronger direct GradTraders trading and withdrawal evidence. FP Markets scores 9.0 out of 10 and may be the better fit for traders who prioritise Iress, Direct Market Access, exchange depth or the broadest platform ecosystem.
Source note: This research-led FP Markets review uses account, pricing, platform, Iress, DMA, funding and regulatory information rechecked on 31 August 2026, alongside the GradTraders review methodology.
