GradTraders Broker Review

FP Markets Review 2026: Is It A Serious Broker For Active Traders?

FP Markets earns 9.0/10 as an international platform-led broker for active traders. Its highest marks explain why: 9.8/10 for platform breadth, 9.6/10 for Iress Direct Market Access and 9.4/10 for account flexibility. MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView serve different forex and CFD workflows, while Iress offers an additional specialist route to exchange-linked share CFDs for eligible clients. The value lies in matching the platform, pricing and products to your strategy — and checking which regulated FP Markets entity can actually serve you.

59-Second FP Markets Review

A concise summary of the 9.0/10 verdict, broad platform choice, Iress DMA advantage and route-specific limitations.

GradTraders Rating 9.0/10 Platform-Breadth & DMA Leader

Best suited to experienced traders who will deliberately use MetaTrader, cTrader, TradingView or Iress rather than choosing from the platform list alone.

Main caution: account protections, leverage, availability and total costs depend on the accepting entity and chosen platform route.

Disclosure & Risk Notice: This article is educational and informational content, not financial advice, investment advice, tax advice or a personal recommendation. CFDs, forex, share CFDs, futures CFDs and other leveraged derivatives can cause rapid losses. Protection, leverage and the possibility of losses beyond the deposited balance can depend on the accepting entity and client classification.

GradTraders has a commercial relationship with FP Markets. If you open an eligible account through the GradTraders partner link, GradTraders may earn commission at no additional cost. That relationship does not determine the independent 9.0/10 rating or remove the entity, cost and platform limitations recorded in this research-led review.

Eligible international readers can visit FP Markets through the GradTraders partner link. FP Markets currently lists the United Kingdom and United States among jurisdictions where services are not offered on relevant international pages, and other restrictions can apply. Use your country gateway and the broker’s current legal documents before opening an account.

Quick Verdict: Why FP Markets Scores 9.0/10

FP Markets is one of the strongest active-trader brokers in the GradTraders comparison bank. Its defining advantage is not simply a Raw spread. It is the combination of MetaTrader, cTrader and TradingView with specialist Iress Direct Market Access for traders who genuinely need exchange pricing and market depth.

Iress is especially relevant to traders who genuinely need exchange prices and order-book depth on eligible CFD contracts, but it is not the same as owning the underlying shares or trading exchange-listed futures. For forex and index-CFD traders, the practical decision is more likely to turn on platform compatibility, all-in dealing costs and the account offered in their country.

The main drawback is the work required to choose correctly. Standard, Raw and Iress have different cost structures, and not every platform, instrument or client protection is available through every legal entity. The 9.0/10 rating is therefore a strong assessment of the offering for suitable traders, not a claim of identical worldwide eligibility or independently tested execution.

GradTraders Rating

9.0/10 — a top-tier research-led active-trader proposition.

Best For

Experienced traders wanting broad platform and execution choice.

Defining Advantage

9.8/10 platforms and 9.6/10 Iress/DMA, with Raw and Standard choices.

Main Caution

Entity, availability, protection and total cost vary by jurisdiction and account.

Affiliate eligibility: the FP Markets partner link is for eligible jurisdictions only. Current FP Markets international pages list the United Kingdom and United States among restricted jurisdictions; other restrictions can apply.

International Account Eligibility: Check The Entity

FP Markets is a multi-entity forex and CFD broker. Its trading tools and account choices are worth researching internationally, but the legal company, available platform, leverage, costs, client protection and permitted products depend on where you live. Check the actual legal entity with your financial regulator and read its account terms before considering any application.

United States: FP Markets lists US residents among its restricted jurisdictions, so US readers should not treat this review as an FP Markets account-opening route. UK readers should read the FCA warning and the UK affiliate-link restriction immediately below.

UK Regulatory Note

FP Markets’ current international material lists the United Kingdom among jurisdictions where services are not offered, and the FCA maintains a warning for FP Markets. UK residents should therefore treat this as international broker research rather than a UK account-opening route and should not use the FP Markets affiliate links on this page. Review the FCA warning.

This is a UK-specific restriction within a global review. Readers elsewhere should still check the exact FP Markets entity, eligibility, products and protections that apply in their own country.

FP Markets Rating Breakdown

The 24-broker master comparison and the six deeper research layers explain this 9.0/10 weighted editorial score. The clear strengths are platform breadth (9.8), Iress DMA (9.6) and account flexibility (9.4). Active pricing is strong at 9.0, while entity complexity, limited first-hand service testing and beginner suitability bring useful caution. The broker reputation and suitability comparison examines wider service and education signals alongside this individual review. These category scores are not a simple arithmetic average. Which FP Markets Account And Platform Should You Choose?

FP Markets should be selected by workflow. Standard and Raw are pricing structures. MT4, MT5 and cTrader are execution platforms. TradingView is listed on the Raw cTrader route. Iress is a separate specialist environment for eligible exchange-traded CFD products.

Simpler Pricing

Standard Account

The current published MetaTrader table lists spreads from 1.0 pips, zero separate forex commission, a minimum deposit of AUD 100 or equivalent and maximum leverage of 500:1.

GradTraders view: easier to understand, but active traders should compare the complete spread and financing cost against Raw pricing.

The current published MetaTrader table lists spreads from 0.0 pips and a USD 3 commission per standard lot per side. The cTrader fee page uses the same USD 3-per-lot each-way structure for Raw forex and metals.

Iress DMA

Iress provides genuine exchange pricing, market depth and DMA execution on eligible exchange-traded CFDs. The published retail schedule lists a $1,000 minimum balance and route-specific brokerage, data and platform charges.

GradTraders view: FP Markets’ clearest differentiator, but unnecessary for most ordinary forex and index-CFD traders.

DMAFull Market Depth
Availability is not sitewide. Confirm that the accepting entity offers the chosen platform, product, leverage and protection framework. A platform shown elsewhere in the FP Markets group may not be available through every onboarding route.

Why FP Markets Stands Apart: Iress Direct Market Access

Iress is not another cosmetic charting option beside MT5 or cTrader. FP Markets uses it to provide DMA pricing on eligible exchange-traded CFDs. The broker states that clients receive a genuine exchange price feed, full market depth and access to the exchange order book, with DMA orders hedged in the underlying market.

What DMA Adds

Exchange Prices And Order-Book Visibility

Traders can see multiple bid and offer levels, analyse liquidity, submit limit orders and interact with the exchange-linked queue on eligible products. Opening and closing auction access may also be available.

What DMA Does Not Add

Ownership Or Guaranteed Execution

The position remains a leveraged CFD rather than legal ownership of the underlying asset. Queue position, available liquidity, partial fills, financing, exchange commission and platform fees still matter.

Iress is most relevant to active share-CFD traders, equity specialists and traders who genuinely use market depth. Someone mainly trading EUR/USD or an index CFD may gain more practical value from the lower-complexity Raw cTrader or MetaTrader routes.

FP Markets Iress DMA share CFD workflow from exchange order book and market depth through platform orders to leveraged CFDs, including liquidity and operating cost reminders.

Iress Costs:The Specialist Advantage Is Not Free

Iress provides a specialist DMA share-CFD route for eligible traders, but its economics are different from a conventional Raw forex account. The Australian retail schedule makes the distinction clear:

Australian Iress Retail ItemPublished TermsWhat To Check
Minimum balanceA$1,000Funding is only the starting point; position margin still applies.
ASX share-CFD brokerageA$6 minimum, then 0.06%Trading frequency and order size influence the effective cost.
Financing (ASX)FP Markets Base Rate + 3.0%Financing matters for overnight positions.
Iress ViewPointA$85 including GST; waived after A$150 monthly commissionCheck current monthly activity and waiver qualification.
ASX live market dataA$25 including GST; waived after A$50 eligible monthly commissionLive data may be unnecessary for some strategies.
ViewPoint Essential / delayed dataPublished as freeFeatures and data latency differ from paid services.

Regional price warning: This table describes the FP Markets Australian Iress retail account schedule checked on 11 October 2026, not a universal price list. Other official regional pages advertise different Iress platform names and fees. Confirm the exact account, entity, charges and commission-waiver terms before funding it. Iress DMA on share CFDs does not mean you own the underlying listed shares.

Trading Costs: Standard, Raw And cTrader

The Standard account builds more of the trading charge into the spread. The Raw account can display tighter pricing while charging a separate commission. Neither structure is automatically cheaper for every instrument or holding period.

The current published MetaTrader table lists Standard spreads from 1.0 pips with zero separate commission and Raw spreads from 0.0 pips with USD 3 per standard lot per side. The cTrader fee page applies the USD 3-per-lot each-way charge to Raw forex and metals, while indices, commodities and cryptocurrencies currently show no separate cTrader commission on that table.

Total cost can also include overnight financing, currency conversion, equity-CFD commission, minimum exchange charges, market data and Iress platform fees.

“From 0.0 pips” is not an average total cost. Compare the observed spread, commission, financing, slippage and conversion cost on the exact account and market session.

Platforms: MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView And Iress

MetaTrader 4

Relevant to established forex workflows, Expert Advisors, custom indicators and users with long-standing MT4 tools.

MetaTrader 5

The broader MetaTrader route for newer automation, multi-asset CFD access and a more modern architecture.

cTrader / TradingView

cTrader provides the modern execution route, while TradingView is available through the Raw cTrader account and its integrated cTrader ID.

Iress

The specialist DMA environment for eligible exchange-traded products, market depth and professional order management.

The platform list is a strength only when each option serves a real purpose. Opening several accounts without understanding their pricing and entity differences creates complexity rather than diversification.

FP Markets Regulation Around The World: Entity Before Brand

FP Markets operates through several legal companies, so the group name alone does not tell a trader which protections or products apply. The current FP Markets group material lists separately regulated operations including Australia, Europe, South Africa, Seychelles and Kenya, alongside a Saint Lucia-registered global company.

The regional examples show why country context matters. First Prudential Markets Pty Ltd is regulated by ASIC in Australia under AFS Licence 286354. The European route identifies First Prudential Markets Ltd as regulated by CySEC under licence 371/18. FP Markets (Pty) Ltd is authorised by the FSCA in South Africa under FSP 50926, while the Seychelles entity is regulated by the FSA under licence SD130. FP Markets also lists a Kenya CMA licence and a Saint Lucia-registered global entity.

Those routes are not interchangeable. The accepting company controls the regulator, leverage, negative-balance treatment, compensation or complaint route, platform access, product set and country restrictions. A platform or term published on one FP Markets site should not be assumed to apply through another entity.

FP Markets states that retail client funds are segregated from company capital on its regulation pages. That is a positive operational safeguard, but segregation is not a guarantee against every loss or insolvency scenario and it does not make all FP Markets entities equivalent.

International rule: entity before brand. Check the legal company named in your client agreement directly against the relevant regulator and current product documents; country gateways are only links to GradTraders research.

Check before depositing: the full legal company name, regulator and licence, client classification, negative-balance wording, segregation terms, compensation framework, leverage, products and available platforms.

Funding And Withdrawals

The current FAQ states that deposits returned through a withdrawal generally need to go back by the same method before profits can be withdrawn through an alternative eligible route. That return-to-source structure is common in broker payment controls but can surprise new clients.

FP Markets states that it does not charge deposit fees on the published funding material, although banks, card providers, wallets and currency conversion can still create external costs.

This remains research-led evidence. Unlike IC Markets, I am not using personal completed withdrawals as support for the FP Markets score.

Is FP Markets Legit?

In the GradTraders view, FP Markets is a legitimate and long-established global broker group with published account, platform, fee and regulatory documentation.

That conclusion should not be overextended. A global brand can operate through several entities with materially different protections and product availability. The legal company shown in the account agreement matters more than a list of group licences.

The practical question is whether the exact FP Markets route provides enough platform, pricing or DMA value to justify its costs and entity framework for the individual trader.

Important distinction: Group credibility does not make Iress cheap, Raw pricing universally lowest, or every regional account equally protected.

My View On FP Markets

FP Markets deserves attention because its platform options serve genuinely different trading approaches. Its 9.8/10 platform score is the standout result, while the 9.6/10 Iress DMA score matters to a narrower group who require exchange-linked share-CFD pricing and order-book depth. For most forex and index traders, Standard versus Raw costs and compatibility with the chosen platform will be more relevant than Iress itself.

I have not opened a personal FP Markets account. My 9.0/10 assessment draws on the GradTraders 24-broker master comparison, six deeper research layers and published primary documents. I have not personally tested FP Markets live fills, client support or withdrawals. That is a genuine evidence limitation, not a claim of poor service.

International readers should evaluate the actual legal entity and account available to them rather than assuming a global platform list guarantees access everywhere. UK readers should also observe the FCA warning and partner-link restriction documented earlier in this review.

Final Verdict: FP Markets Earns 9.0/10

FP Markets earns its 9.0/10 rating by offering more than an ordinary forex account with a competitive spread. Platform breadth scores 9.8/10, specialist Iress DMA 9.6/10 and account flexibility 9.4/10. That combination makes the broker particularly relevant to experienced traders who have a defined strategy and know whether they need MetaTrader automation, cTrader, TradingView or the more specialised Iress route.

Raw pricing can appeal to frequent forex traders, but the relevant comparison includes commission, slippage and funding, not merely a minimum quoted spread. Iress adds market-depth and exchange-linked share-CFD features where available, along with brokerage, data and financing costs that can make it unnecessary or uneconomic for some strategies.

The main limits to the rating are not a lack of tools. They are account complexity, genuine differences between national legal entities, beginner suitability and the absence of independent FP Markets execution and withdrawal testing by GradTraders. UK readers must also observe the specific FCA warning and the prohibition on using this review’s FP Markets affiliate links.

GradTraders verdict: FP Markets belongs on the international active-trader shortlist for platform choice, Raw-account flexibility and specialist Iress DMA. It is strongest when those capabilities answer a real trading need — and only after the trader has confirmed the entity, permissions, total costs and protections of the account actually available to them.

Eligibility note: the FP Markets partner link is for eligible jurisdictions only. Current FP Markets international pages list the United Kingdom and United States among restricted jurisdictions. Confirm current eligibility and the accepting entity before opening an account.

FP Markets Review FAQ

Is FP Markets good for active traders?

Yes, in the GradTraders view. FP Markets combines competitive Standard and Raw account structures with MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and specialist Iress Direct Market Access. It is strongest for experienced traders who will use that platform breadth deliberately. The exact entity, products and protections available can vary by country.

How should international readers use this FP Markets review?

Use this review to understand platforms, pricing, Iress DMA and research limitations. Then check the exact FP Markets entity with your own financial regulator and confirm available products, platforms, costs and protections using official account documents. GradTraders country gateways are secondary navigation, not broker-eligibility or regulator checks.

Which FP Markets account is best?

Standard is simpler for traders who prefer spread-based pricing. Raw is more relevant to active forex and metals traders who understand the separate commission. cTrader and TradingView suit modern chart-led workflows, while Iress is a specialist route for eligible exchange-linked share-CFD traders who need market depth and can justify the extra data and platform costs. Availability depends on the exact entity and account.

What is the minimum deposit at FP Markets?

Current international Standard and Raw account tables list a minimum deposit of US$100 or equivalent, although regional requirements can differ. The published Iress retail schedule lists a 1,000-dollar minimum balance. Exact requirements can vary by entity, platform and account route.

What is Iress at FP Markets?

Iress is a professional market-data and order-entry platform used by FP Markets for Direct Market Access on eligible exchange-traded CFD products. It can provide exchange prices, full market depth and order-book access, but it can also involve platform, market-data, financing and exchange-commission costs.

Does FP Markets support TradingView?

Yes. FP Markets provides TradingView through the Raw cTrader route and its integrated cTrader ID on supported routes. Availability should be confirmed for the exact legal entity and account selected.

Is FP Markets regulated?

FP Markets operates through several legal entities and regulatory routes. Current group material identifies regulated entities in Australia, Europe, South Africa, Seychelles and Kenya, alongside a Saint Lucia-registered global company. The protection that applies depends on the exact company accepting the account.

Can UK or US residents use the FP Markets route in this review?

FP Markets currently lists the United Kingdom and United States among jurisdictions where services are not offered on relevant international pages. UK readers also have an FCA warning to consider. Readers in those countries should use the relevant local GradTraders research and alternative broker routes rather than the FP Markets affiliate links on this page.

What makes FP Markets distinctive among active-trader brokers?

FP Markets earns 9.0/10, led by 9.8/10 for platform breadth, 9.6/10 for Iress DMA and 9.4/10 for account flexibility. Its specialist share-CFD market-depth route and multiple forex/CFD platforms distinguish it, but costs, product access and protection vary by account entity.

The specific FCA warning concerning FP Markets remains material for UK readers.
