Plus500 Review 2026: Regulation, Platform, Fees & Global Access
Plus500 scores 8.1/10 in the GradTraders broker bank and is our recommended FCA-regulated CFD broker partner for UK retail traders, as well as our preferred US partner route where its products fit the trader. Its clean proprietary platform, segregated client money, negative-balance protection and unlimited demo may suit self-directed traders with previous financial-market experience who prefer a user-friendly interface and a focused proprietary environment. In the US, Plus500 operates a separately regulated futures business and also offers Prediction Markets to eligible US customers.
Disclosure & Risk Notice: Plus500 is a GradTraders commercial partner. That relationship has not changed the broker’s existing 8.1/10 GradTraders score or its position in the 24-broker master table. This article is for educational and informational purposes only and should not be considered financial advice, investment advice, tax advice or a personal recommendation. CFDs are complex financial products and involve a high risk of loss. The Plus500 CFD proposition is discussed here only in relation to self-directed traders with previous financial-market experience. Futures and options also involve significant risk and may not be suitable for all traders; futures losses can exceed the original investment.
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. 76% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.
Products, regulation, protections, costs and trading routes vary by country and Plus500 legal entity. Check the account available in your jurisdiction before funding it. Looking for GradTraders partner offers and trading updates? Access GradTraders Partner Offers.
GradTraders Best Native Platform Choice: Plus500
United Kingdom
GradTraders does not promote broker services to UK customers unless the relevant UK entity is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Plus500UK Ltd (FRN 509909) is authorised and regulated by the FCA, and Plus500 is a firm we’re proud to partner with for our UK audience.
UK risk reminder: CFDs are leveraged products and can result in rapid losses. The provider-specific retail loss warning is displayed within the Plus500 banner above.
United States
For United States readers, Plus500 provides a separate futures service through Plus500US Financial Services LLC d/b/a Plus500, a Futures Commission Merchant registered with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and a member of the National Futures Association (NFA ID 0001398).
The US futures service is separate from the UK CFD service provided by Plus500UK Ltd.
US risk reminder: Futures and options involve substantial risk of loss and are not suitable for every investor. Losses may exceed the amount originally invested. Trading privileges are subject to review and approval.

Quick Verdict: Plus500 Earns 8.1/10
I opened a Plus500 account and became familiar with its CFD product on its UK platform back in 2008, during the company’s earliest days. As my trading developed, I gravitated towards IG Index and CMC Markets spread-betting accounts. In more recent years, I have also come to value third-party platform choice and more specialist trading tools.
That helps explain an important feature of the GradTraders broker table. Some of the brokers towards the top are there because they suit the increasingly specialist requirements of active traders, while brokers elsewhere in the table can actually be more user-friendly in day-to-day use. Viewed from that perspective, Plus500’s clean proprietary platform, unlimited demo account and strong regulatory safeguards are significant strengths rather than disadvantages.
A wide network of regulated businesses gives Plus500 genuine international scale.
May suit discretionary traders with previous financial-market experience who do not need external trading software.
No native cTrader, MT4, MT5 or external TradingView execution route in the current broker bank.
The Plus500 partnership has not changed its GradTraders rating or master-table position.

Who Are Plus500?
Plus500 is a global financial-technology group founded in 2008. It develops its own trading technology, is listed on the London Stock Exchange and serves customers in more than 60 countries through regulated businesses around the world.
Its international business is best known for CFDs across major markets where permitted, while the US operation is separate and offers futures, options on futures and Prediction Markets. The exact products and protections depend on the Plus500 business serving your country.
Plus500 Pros And Cons
Plus500 Pros
- Broad regulatory coverage across the GradTraders broker bank.
- Services in more than 60 countries through multiple regulated entities.
- Consistent proprietary web and mobile environment.
- Free and unlimited demo account.
- Broad international CFD coverage where permitted.
- Dedicated US futures, options-on-futures and Prediction Markets offering.
- US futures business through a CFTC-registered FCM and NFA member.
- Plus500US Financial Services is a full CME Group member.
- Established US futures technology and order-routing heritage through Cunningham/CTS.
- Integrated alerts and risk-management tools.
- Long operating history since 2008 and London Stock Exchange listing.
- Historical direct Plus500 CFD-platform experience dating back to 2008.
Plus500 Cons
- No native cTrader, MT4 or MT5 route in the GradTraders broker bank.
- No external TradingView broker execution route identified in the bank.
- No raw-spread or commission-led active CFD account in the current master methodology.
- The proprietary platform is less suitable for traders dependent on external automation or specialist software.
- Overnight funding and currency conversion can materially affect CFD costs.
- UK retail cryptocurrency CFDs are unavailable.
Plus500 Proprietary Platform: Strength Or Limitation?
Plus500 keeps watchlists, charts, market information, alerts, positions and account controls inside its own web and mobile applications. There is no need to choose a separate trading terminal to use the Plus500 platform.
For the right trader, I see that as a strength. A discretionary setup can be more streamlined when analysis, order entry and position management all sit in the same place. Plus500’s +Insights feature also adds aggregated behavioural information where the feature is available.
The downside appears when your strategy depends on something outside that environment. This is not the natural choice for cTrader users, MetaTrader EAs, API-led trading, external TradingView execution or anyone who wants to carry the same platform setup between brokers.
Focused Workflow
Analysis, orders, alerts and account controls are kept together rather than spread across several services.
Web & Mobile
The same core experience carries across devices without requiring a third-party terminal.
Less Flexible
Automation, APIs and platform-specific workflows are better served elsewhere.
Unlimited Demo Account: A Genuine Plus500 Strength
Plus500 offers a free and unlimited demo environment, with virtual funds that can be adjusted and reset. The demo is useful for learning the proprietary platform, testing order entry and becoming familiar with the products available through the relevant account route.
That matters because there is no pressure to move to real money simply because a short demo period has expired. A trader can spend longer learning how the platform works before deciding whether the platform fits their requirements.
Demo trading is still not the same as live trading. Real-money execution, slippage, emotional pressure, financing and loss aversion can produce a very different experience.
Demo verdict: the unlimited demo is one of Plus500’s clearest practical advantages. Use it to learn the platform and product mechanics, not as evidence that live trading will be profitable.
Plus500 Markets And Products Vary By Country
Across its international CFD business, Plus500 gives eligible traders access to a wide range of markets including shares, stock indices, commodities, forex, ETFs and options, depending on the regulated entity. That broad CFD coverage remains central to the Plus500 proposition outside the United States. Availability subject to regulations. Cryptocurrency CFDs are not available to UK retail clients through Plus500UK.
The US business is different. Instead of offering retail CFDs, Plus500 provides futures and options on futures across areas such as equity indices, energy, metals, forex, agriculture, interest rates and cryptocurrency futures. It has also added Prediction Markets, where customers can take Yes or No positions on regulated event contracts tied to real-world outcomes.
The product mix is genuinely regional. UK retail customers use the Plus500UK CFD account, while US customers access a separate futures and Prediction Markets proposition through the American business.
Similar product differences appear elsewhere because local regulation determines what the company can offer.
Orders, Risk Tools And Execution Fit
On its CFD service, Plus500 provides close-at-profit, close-at-loss, trailing-stop and eligible guaranteed-stop tools. Guaranteed stops are not available on every instrument and carry a pricing trade-off, while ordinary stops can still be affected by gaps and slippage.
Price, percentage-change and trader-sentiment alerts can also be delivered through the app and other supported channels. For a discretionary trader, having those controls built into the same software is useful.
The US futures business should be considered separately. It operates through a CFTC-registered Futures Commission Merchant, is an NFA member and full CME Group member, and sits on established US exchange-routing and clearing infrastructure. Plus500 has also built a dedicated retail futures platform around that business. Execution will always depend on market conditions, but the combination of purpose-built software and established futures infrastructure is a genuine strength.
Plus500 Fees Depend On What You Trade
For CFDs, Plus500 is mainly paid through the bid/ask spread. Overnight funding, currency conversion and inactivity charges can also apply, depending on the instrument, account and activity. Guaranteed stops, where available, use a wider spread.
US futures are priced differently. Plus500 Futures currently publishes commissions of $0.49 per side for Micro contracts and $0.89 per side for Standard contracts. Other charges can also apply, including regulatory, exchange, clearing, liquidation or withdrawal-related charges, so traders should check the live Plus500 Futures fee schedule for the full current cost structure.
It would therefore be misleading to describe the entire Plus500 group with one global cost model. The practical approach is to check the current fee schedule for the product and country you intend to use, because holding period, account currency and trading frequency can all change the real cost.
Cost verdict: Plus500’s pricing is clearer to compare once you are looking at the correct product, but CFD costs and US futures costs should not be mixed together.
Deposits, Withdrawals And Support
Payment methods, currencies and withdrawal terms differ between Plus500 businesses. On the international CFD service, Plus500 states that it covers most payment-processing fees, although banks, card issuers and other providers can still impose their own charges.
I have not retested customer support or completed a new deposit-and-withdrawal cycle for this review. That means I can comment on my historical familiarity with the software, but I would not present the current payment or support experience as a fresh first-hand test.
Plus500 Regulation And Client Protection
Regulation is one of Plus500’s main strengths. The group operates regulated businesses across the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Japan, Canada, the UAE, the United States and other markets.
The protection you receive depends on the legal entity, client classification and product. For UK retail CFD clients, Plus500UK Ltd is FCA-authorised and the account includes segregated client money and negative-balance protection. Plus500 Ltd is also listed on the London Stock Exchange, adding public-company reporting and governance requirements.
Why Plus500 Is Our Preferred Partner Route In The UK And US
For UK retail traders, Plus500 is our recommended FCA-regulated CFD broker partner. Plus500UK Ltd is authorised and regulated by the FCA, client money is held in segregated bank accounts under the applicable client-money rules, and retail CFD clients benefit from negative-balance protection. Its clean proprietary platform and unlimited demo may suit self-directed retail traders with previous financial-market experience who prefer a user-friendly interface and a focused native platform.
For US retail traders, Plus500 is our preferred partner where its products fit the way they trade. Futures trading is offered through Plus500US Financial Services LLC, a CFTC-registered Futures Commission Merchant, NFA member (NFA ID 0001398) and full CME Group member. Plus500 entered the US market through Cunningham Commodities and Cunningham Trading Systems, bringing established futures and exchange-routing infrastructure into the group.
Plus500 has also added Prediction Markets for eligible US customers. These are regulated event contracts based on verifiable real-world outcomes, with Yes or No positions rather than the structure of a CFD or conventional futures contract. Plus500 has also become the clearing partner for FanDuel Prediction Markets using CME Group event contracts.

Plus500 Review FAQ
Is Plus500 a good broker?
Plus500 earns 8.1/10 in the GradTraders broker bank. GradTraders identifies its main strengths as broad regulation, international availability and a self-contained trading environment. It is less suitable if you require cTrader, MetaTrader, APIs, external TradingView execution or raw-style pricing.
Is Plus500 regulated?
Yes. Plus500 operates regulated businesses across major markets including the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Japan, Canada, the UAE and the United States. The regulator and protections that apply depend on the business holding your account.
Is Plus500 available outside the UK?
Yes. Plus500 serves customers in more than 60 countries. Products vary by market, so check the account offered in your country rather than assuming the UK CFD service applies everywhere.
Who does the Plus500 platform suit?
Its user-friendly interface can suit self-directed traders with previous financial-market experience who prefer one controlled trading environment. It becomes less suitable when a strategy depends on external software, automation or APIs.
Does Plus500 support MT4, MT5, cTrader or TradingView execution?
No native MT4, MT5 or cTrader route and no external TradingView broker execution route are identified for Plus500 in the current GradTraders broker bank. Traders who require those platforms should compare alternatives.
Does Plus500 offer an unlimited demo account?
Yes. Plus500 provides a free and unlimited demo with virtual funds that can be adjusted and reset. It is useful for learning the software, but demo results do not predict live trading performance.
Are Plus500 products the same in every country?
No. The UK retail account is centred on CFDs, while the US business offers futures, options on futures and Prediction Markets through a separate regulated operation. Other regions can have different products and protections.
How is Plus500 regulated in the United States?

What are Plus500 Prediction Markets?
Plus500 Prediction Markets allow eligible US customers to take Yes or No positions on regulated event contracts linked to verifiable real-world outcomes. Plus500 states that these contracts are offered on regulated exchanges under CFTC oversight. They are separate from CFDs and conventional futures.
Why is Plus500 a GradTraders preferred US partner?
For US traders, we value the combination of CFTC and NFA regulation, full CME Group membership, segregated customer funds, established US futures and order-routing infrastructure, a purpose-built proprietary platform, Prediction Markets and transparent retail pricing.
Has Matthew Jackson used Plus500?
Yes. I opened a Plus500 account and became familiar with its CFD product on its UK platform back in 2008, during the company’s earliest days. This update does not claim a recent deposit, withdrawal, support or execution test.
